To understand these just keep an open mind, and no you won’t need to know the complexities of a electronic device.

MYTH 1: Mobile phone radiation will give you brain cancer.

I understand why this one is so hard to kill. Radiation is a scary science-y bogeyman that causes all sorts of strange things to happen where things would otherwise be okay. Like all other similar myths, this springs from a deep misunderstanding of just how radiation works. In a deeply-simplified nutshell, cell replication is disrupted by radiation when the radiation is of the correct type and sufficient strength to break the chemical bonds of information that cells need to reproduce themselves correctly. Mobile phone radiation is neither the correct type nor of sufficient strength to cause that kind of mayhem. You get more of that kind of radiation from flying from one end of the country to the other, or possibly from eating a banana. Or who knows, the radiation may turn you into Hulk!, I am serious.

MYTH 2: Leaving your phone plugged overnight is going to fry it.

Well, no. Not exactly. Phones now are smart enough to keep from sucking in more juice than they need. Once the device’s battery is full, the phone should stop feeding it, keeping it safe. It still might not be a good idea to leave your phone plugged in, as it will draw power from the wall outlet, and we could all stand to save every bit of electricity we can.

MYTH 3: Jailbreaking/Rooting your phone is bad.

The effect of rooting/jailbreaking is to allow more control over what goes into your phone, as well as removing some of the software limits the manufacturer puts in at the factory. Some of these limits serve to protect the device from potential harm, while others straight up limit functionality.

MYTH 4: Using your phone on a plane/around medical equipment will have disastrous results.

This is one of those myths that endures because it’s better to be safe than sorry. The truth is the equipment used on planes and medical equipment is shielded well enough to keep cell phone interference from causing the affected parties from having a really bad day. Still, doing that kind of thing has legal consequences, so you probably won’t want to do it. If you absolutely have to, though, you should be fine.

MYTH 5: Using a mobile phone at the gas station is going to blow you up.

Nope. Unless your phone is shorted out and showering sparks all over gasoline fumes, you should be fine. There just isn’t enough energy in the mobile phone signal to ignite admittedly, highly-volatile gas fumes. This was even tested to be false in the popular Discovery Channel show Mythbusters . Naked flames or possibly lit cigarettes will be a problem though.

Mobile phones, these things have made our lives awesome, and its a little wrong if we fail to understand the basics of how these devices actually works, and what’s more worse is when we fail to differentiate facts from fantasy about these little devices, so today I will try and

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[5

post-861","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-knowledgebase
As mobile devices and applications continue to flood the business landscape, the security holes that these consumer devices pose put your entire enterprise network at risk.
