    To determine which type of web server to use, its important to know about both, to decide which gets your vote. Understandably it could get a bit difficult to actually pick one for your project.<\/p>\n

    And since Apache is the most used Web Server technology of now, we\u2019ll compare Apache Web Server and Apache Tomcat, which are very different and fulfill different needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
    Apache Tomcat<\/td>\nApache http<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Apache Tomcat is used to deploy your Java Servlets and JSPs.<\/td>\nApache HTTP server is just a web server designed to serve static web pages.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Tomcat has it’s own HTTP server built into it, and is fully functional at serving static content too.<\/td>\nApache is a general-purpose http server, which supports a number of advanced options that Tomcat doesn’t.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Works as a light-weight testing server<\/td>\nSupports CGI scripts, Server API modules, Perl, PHP, etc<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Can be run in different modes to promote better performance.<\/td>\nLack of functionality for Java Servlets or JavaServer Pages, which cannot be run with Apache\u2019s web server.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Apache Tomcat is coded in java.<\/td>\nApache http or generally Apache is coded in C programming language.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
